Duke of Edinburgh successes
Congratulations to all our students who have successfully completed their Bronze Duke of Edinburgh award. They have spent 3 months volunteering, polishing their skills, carried out physical challenges and spent 2 days and a night on a memorable expedition.
Well done to: J Humpage, S Mahmood, Y Dai (all pictured above with Ms White, Headteacher), K Jeynes and J Bolger.
A huge thank you to everyone who has supported them at RBWM and at Furze Platt, and especially to Ms Carty and Mrs Alston.
Special mention to J Humpage, pictured next to Ms White, who was also awarded the Carl Burrows prize (for students who demonstrate leadership and notable achievement) from SATRO as part of his construction course.

'Benefits of a DofE Award
For the hundreds of thousands of other young people who take part each year, the benefits of achieving a DofE Award at any level are endless.
It’s difficult to list them all here… but you should definitely know how much fun you’ll have, how pushing yourself to do new things will help you to grow in confidence and develop useful skills. Why meeting new people will inspire you and lead to lasting friendships. And how a DofE Award can give you the edge when you apply for college, university or work.
Put simply, the DofE is about helping you along the path to a productive and prosperous future. As many of our participants say, it’s life-changing.'
