On Tuesday the Science Department hosted a talk entitled 'The Internet of Things and Cyber Security' with guest speaker John Davies from Vodafone.

 John works in the Cyber Security team in the 'Internet of Things' business. The world is getting more connected, from cars to lifts, and even toys. This brings many benefits and new opportunities, but also threats. He focused on these currently hot areas, and also his path into this job, via STEM subjects and through several other jobs on the way. We had a small but very enthusiastic and knowledgeable audience and the discussion ranged from hacking to self-driving cars to methods of encryption.
